DECEMBER 1990. Dateline Barrington, NH.  A small farmhouse on Scruton Pond was the site of a Winter Solstice ritual. This was where it all began, the complex and bizarre experiment that was to become known as Graykin. A woman and a man consented to engage in a partnering that eventually led to... well, the content of this website, among other things.

Justine Graykin, aka M.J. Graykin, is a writer. She is the author of Awake Chimera and Two Novellas, and the creative mind behind the online project Art Spider. She also works as a technical assistant at the Philbrick- James Library and is archivist for the Deerfield Historical Society.

Larry Graykin is an educator and songwriter/arranger. He has recorded many songs and maintains a page at MySpace that showcases some of his pop-oriented music. He teaches English Language Arts at Barrington Middle School. (If you are a student, you can find Team Mallego's homework site here.) He is also one of the founders of a non-profit organization, the New Hampshire Center for Integrated Curriculum, which is promoting a charter for an innovative new middle school, Middle Village School.  He's also collaborating on the Art Spider project with Justine.

Max Graykin is a student at Concord High School. He is a drummer, and lists among his hobbies inventing, drawing, and creating animations.

Alec Graykin is a student at Deerfield Community School. He is a fan of the Myst computer games, Homestar Runner, and of Star Trek: The Next Generation. He has a vivid imagination.

The Graykins live in Deerfield, NH, where they raise chickens, record music (they own and run Panama-On- Lamprey recording studio), garden, philosophize, and complain to one another about politics. Some Graykins were involved in the creation of a music video in 2006 and another one in 2007. None of them have business degrees, and none of them have a rare genetic disorder that forces them to slough off their skin biannually. They have too many pets.
